The Arab-Islamic-American Summit has kick started in the Saudi
capital Riyadh with more than with 50
leaders from the Muslim world
participating.
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman
on Sunday tweeted that the upcoming Arab-Islamic-American Summit hosting
US President Donald Trump would cement a global anti-terror alliance.
“I
welcome my brethren and friends to the Arab-Islamic-American Summit,
which will bring positive horizons for our region and the world, we
will cement our alliance against extremism and terrorism,” the king
tweeted following a meeting between
Trump and Gulf leaders, which aimed at addressing security and defense issues.
The Arab-Islamic-American Summit will be
held later in the day, in which Trump is also scheduled to give his
speech on terrorism in a bid to appeal to Muslims worldwide.
Trump’s
speech, the centerpiece of his two-day visit to Saudi Arabia, will
address the leaders of 50 Muslim-majority countries to cast the
challenge of extremism as a “battle between good and evil.”
